Twenty-five Syrian Christians abducted by the self-proclaimed Islamic State in February have been released, according to the Assyrian International News Agency.
The freed captives, all of them men and which included two boys ages 7 and 9, were among 253 Assyrians captured nearly 10 months earlier during an IS attack on dozens of villages near the Khabur river in the Hasaka province, in northern Syria.
Since the attacks, 120 of those captured have been released, according to the news agency. It said three of the hostages were killed in September, and that 130 of the Assyrians remain captive.
