The man likely to become Egypt’s new president after the May 26-27 balloting told a nationwide television audience Monday that the Muslim Brotherhood would cease to exist after his election. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the former Army field marshall who in 2013 directed the removal of former President Mohamed Morsi, gave his first interview of the campaign with two privately run television channels. Sisi said the Brotherhood’s ties to violent groups precludes a return to public life in Egypt.
